Valentines Day Inspiration Gift Guide #4

Hello there, welcome back to the 'Valentines Day Inspiration Gift Guide #4' here on Beauty Artiste

Candles and Valentines Day are a great mix as they compliment any dinner table setting and are super romantic to have going when you're cooking dinner for your loved one/s.

Candles are a great gift to give your loved one/s on Valentines Day as they can be quite useful for relaxing and making a dinner party environment more 'inviting'. Candles come in all different scents, brands, shapes, sizes and price ranges.

I love candles as they make great gifts and are super relaxing to have on when you're trying to relax or having a relaxing bath. Some candles even are useful for therapeutic uses, by burning the candle the wax and essential oils for the smell and allows you to relax (mind, body and soul therapeutic uses) and can be of calming nature.

There are so many kinds of candle scents and smells, and each person's preference in candles are different. Some people like spicy scents, cinnamon-like scents, vanilla and coconut and sweet scents. I love all kinds of candle scents, as they all smell so lovely!

Right now, i'm loving the Yankee Candle 'French Vanilla' scented candle from the food and spice collection as it is such a beautiful relaxing scent that doesn't smell too strong or sweet but just the right combination of spicy, therapeutic, feminine/masculine and sweet.

Here are a few candle brands and scents to look out for:

~ The Yankee Candle 'French Vanilla' scent from the 'Food and Spice Collection' smells absolutely divine!

~ This Yankee Candle looks absolutely beautiful when lit, and smells warm and very inviting. Super romantic!

~ The candle on the right, is a 'Serenity Candle' and the scent is White Tea and Neroli. Plus, its such a pretty candle with the added garland around the bottom filled with flowers, pearls and glittery berry-like pieces.

~ Now finally… The bigger candle of the 3, is a 'Serenity Candle' and has a burning time of approximately 30 hours (wow, thats heaps of candle time). The scent is Suya Spice and Raspberry- which smells quite sweet but not too sickly sweet, more of a romantic type of sweet scent. The 2 little candles I just bought from a candle store for about $3 each and come in this cute little shabby-chic glass tea light holder packaging- the candles inside of the glass are included with the tea light holders.  The scent of these 2 little candles, is vanilla- love it! I love how the light shines through the shabby-chic looking silver glass, it just makes a pretty design on the ceiling when the candle is lit, which is super romantic and very suitable for Valentines Day!

I hope this post helps you with your choices for candles!

1st February 2014 and update!

Hello there, long time no see!

I looked at my blog a few weeks ago and realised I haven't blogged in ages- oh my goodness! 2013 was an amazing year! Lovely memories and good company with friends and such! I was excited to let the year 2014 in and make new memories and blog more!

January was a lovely month- also because it was my birthday on the 2nd, and I turned 18! January has been about trying new beauty products and discovering new beauty brands! Specifically Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, Valentino and Juicy Couture. I've been organising my winter outfits all ready for Autumn and Winter- I've recently had an interest for cashmere winter knits and pretty coloured cable knit jackets/sweaters that you can pair with printed trousers or light coloured trousers.

Now its the 1st of February, and is such a lovely and pretty month and, Valentines Day is coming up too! I've recently been inspired to write a 14-day blogpost (post each day up until  the 14th of February) for Valentines Day. I would like to write up a gift guide for this lovely and pretty day! I will also write about recent looks that I have been loving for Valentines Day, using lots of pinks and girly colours!

See you in my next post! :)

What's been happening in July?

I thought I would start off by writing up a 'Monthly Round-up' post about all of things that has appeared in July and what I've been up to throughout the month of July.

Well, July was a busy month and it was halfway through the wintery season, and Spring is nearly on it's way!

1. This month, has been all about trying new perfumes and scents, because most of the time I stick to the same perfume each time, and never venture out and wear strong-scented perfumes.
So, I promised myself this year that I would try out new perfumes, and I did! The perfume that has recently caught my eye the most, is Bvlgari Jasmin Noir (Eau de Parfum). This perfume is such a beauty! The scent and the bottle itself is just absolutely beautiful. The scent is quite musky, very feminine, luxurious and has a woody scent which adds the sensuality to this perfume. This perfume is great because it's quite subtle but very long lasting, and just makes you feel luxurious!

2. July has been a great month and the weather has been perfect for pairing silk blouses with lovely trench coats! My newest addition to the 'blouses' family, has been this perfectly woven silk blouse which is on the spliced side of colours (black and white). This blouse perfectly suits trousers or subtle printed pants. I paired this blouse with my other newest addition to my jewellery collection, this gold chain that is the perfect length for blouses and outfit attire. This outfit will be a staple in my wardrobe for every season as it's comfortable enough to wear in the Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter.

3. I don't think I have ever shown my blogging essentials or where I begin writing my blog, but I thought I would post a picture of it here in this blogpost for you all to see. It was a Sunday afternoon, and I received some beautiful flowers which were very sweet, and that's where the last blogpost took place. I always feel inspired to write, when I see quite lovely things such as flowers, beautiful boutiques or inspirational and whimsical things.

4. I received these beautiful flowers and they were so pretty, I couldn't resist but to take photos of them! They are just so pretty! I always love fresh flowers in my house as it makes you feel happy (and makes the environment happy) and adds a lovely feminine touch.

So there we go, that's what I have been up to in the month of July! I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and I hope to write more of these each month!

Back to the blogging business on Beauty Artiste...

Hello fellow readers, I noticed I haven't blogged on 'Beauty Artiste' for a few months and only recently I sat down at my desk and thought to myself, "I really need to write up a new blogpost!"

So here I am, writing to you all about what I have been up to and recent purchases I have made.
I never usually explore higher priced foundations, I only look at the beauty counters and oogle the amazingly beautiful foundations, these brands have! I usually stick with the safe, highstreet foundations that are usually well known, easy to use and non fussy. Brands such as, Rimmel, Revlon, Maybelline, Loreal and many more. Honestly, this year I have been sticking to Rimmel as they have been making great products and I have great feedback for all of their beauty products. For foundation, I've been sticking with the renowned favourite, Rimmel's 'Wake me Up' radiance foundation which has been an absolute *holy grail* of mine. Honestly this foundation is RADIANCE in a bottle. It brings light to the skin and just makes you feel a little bit special when you wear it. It's a very affordable foundation and the bottle lasts you a long time!

Now on to the more higher end news..
A few weeks ago, I was reading an issue of Vogue magazine which I purchase each month as a bit of a pamper read. I was reading through the pages, as you do, until I noticed a section on makeup expert tips and that seasons must-haves. It was all about Estee Lauder, a higher end beauty brand that has such beautiful beauty items, who wouldn't resist?
On the side of the page, there was a little advert that instantly caught my eye... The advert showed several Estee Lauder foundations and the benefits of each foundation on each skin tone, and such. What caught my eye the most, was that the advert said you can receive your complimentary 10-day free trial of one of the Estee Lauder foundations and try it out, to see if you like the foundation then purchase it if you got great results!
So I thought, 'Why not make use of this complimentary sample?'
The advert was mostly advertising the 'Double Wear' foundation from Estee Lauder, which has been quite a popular foundation, and is at an appropriate price. 'Double Wear' has gained its popularity due to it's long wearing properties, is non fussy, and is so very classy.
Within the next week, I went to my nearest Estee Lauder counter and received this fabulous sample. I chose the 'Double Wear' foundation in the shade 'Cool Bone'.
*To give a little clue as to how I have been going using this foundation, I must say I have great feedback and many great things to say about this particular foundation. I will have a full review of this foundation up on the blog very soon for you all to read and indulge in..

Now on to the creative side of things, lately I have been doing some decorative styling and adding more glass wear to my dressing table and bookshelf. I'll post up some pictures of the decorative styling ideas and pretty things I received this week.

Enjoy reading on and keep smiling!
x

Gerbera's are so lovely and just add such a bright feeling to the room..

The Favourites: Perfumes

Even though the season is now Autumn, I do enjoy using 'floral' scents in perfumes each day. This seasonal I am currently using a mixture of perfume scents, floral and dark woody scents. There will be a post soon here on Beauty Artiste about current perfume favourites for Autumn and Winter!

At the moment, I have absolutely adored using Vera Wang "Love Struck" and Marc Jacobs "Daisy" (the original). These 2 perfumes are an absolute must for spring/summer scents as they are subtle but add a little 'zing and oriental flower', very beautiful.

Vera Wang "Love Struck" has become my favourite perfume to use throughout each season. The notes of this perfume are pink guava, mandarin, tuberose and lotus blossom, but the main notes which are most noticed are precious woody notes and the beautiful sheer musk scent. I must not forget to mention, the oh so beautiful packaging and aesthetic appeal of how the perfume bottle looks. The beautiful tulip-like-shaped flowers on the lid and the mixture of red and light rose coloured ribbon delicately glistening on the bottle, is quite pretty and girly. This scent and beautiful bottle is a must-see and smell.

Marc Jacobs "Daisy" is an all time favourite perfume of mine and has been in my perfume collection for a few years now. This 'feminine and classic' scent and perfume is a must in every woman's perfume collection. The mixture top, middle and base notes are very intense and quite beautiful- the top notes consist of strawberry and violet leaves, middle notes of violet petals and jasmine bouquet, and base notes of musk and vanilla infusions. It is advertised as a "playful, bright and alluring scent". This perfume is absolutely gorgeous, the beautiful golden shimmer of the perfume inside of the bottle with the added aesthetic touch of 3 different sized white flowers (Daisies) with a gold button in the middle of the flower, on the perfume bottle lid.

What will your seasonal perfume favourites be?

Autumn/Winter 2013

I thought I would start off by saying, happy Autumn- it's finally that season again where new trends and statement red lipsticks hit the catwalk again!

I've seen a few pictures and trends for this season on the runway, and I think this Autumn is going to be quite lovely and I am going to be well organised with my blog and will write more blogposts. I thought I would write a little update about upcoming posts and the new things on the blog.

I have been thinking and writing ideas for upcoming posts this season and I have taken notes about the ideas for new blogposts on the blog soon. I would firstly like to say, a big thankyou to all my readers and thankyou to all the people who have read my blog and the posts I have written- it has been so lovely. I know I have only been blogging for a year now (it has gone so fast though) but it's been such an amazing time to write about reviews and blog about whimsical finds and such. A big thankyou to you all, for helping me along with the blog too.

This season, I will be writing up a new post about Autumn Edits- all the products and clothing I think will be great for the wintery season. Keep an eye out for this post, as I am in the process of writing this little post. I will also be filming a video about these edits too!

Hopefully, very soon I will have a new blog design and such, and there will be many more whimsical posts to arrive on this blog :)

Happy reading!

February Favourites

I thought I would start blogging more about my favourites for each month, and I realised these blogposts are quite popular in the blogging industry.
So this months February Favourites will include a few 'valentines day inspired' products such as pink and red blushes and roses (very cliché). I think this months favourites are very small and I haven't used as many products as I would like to, but I think these products are pretty interesting and have inspired me to buy more of these products.

I really like products that are organic and made of natural ingredients- which is always the winner in product favourites.

'Rimmel Wake Me Up' foundation:
This has been a key favourite in my February Favourites, and has been a great product to use each day when I am applying makeup or just a natural base of foundation. Honestly, even though this product has been a huge hype in the blogging industry, I think it's a great foundation- the texture of the foundation is not too heavy or glittery (even though there is a slight shimmer added to the foundation, but the glitter does not transfer on to the skin once applied). I have the colour, 'Ivory' in the foundation, and the colour suits me quite well, because I tend to find some foundations are very ivory coloured.
The foundation's staying power would be about 7-8 hours, depending if you are applying powder over the top of the foundation or leaving the foundation as it is. I think this foundation is quite a good, everyday illuminating foundation that is at a reasonable price.

Clinique Chubby Stick in Pudgy Peony:
This lipstick/lipbalm is the perfect pinkish-red lipstick to use everyday- it's very subtle in colour but adds a bright flush of colour to the lips. I realise, these types of lipsticks that are lipbalm-like in texture, are quite popular on the beauty shelves today. There are alot of brands creating these products- which I think is lovely. The Clinique Chubby Stick range have extended the lipstick/lipbalm range by adding the Chubby Stick Intense range- a more intense colour range filled with bright colours and statement lip colours. I really enjoy using this lip product each day, as it's subtle enough to wear each day, without having to worry about if the colour is too bright and such. These lipsticks are 100% fragrance free and allergy tested- which is always a high point in buying lip products. Overall, I enjoy this lipstick and the Clinique range, and I hope to purchase more colours from the lipstick range.

Physicians Formula Blusher in Rose:
I've only just recently purchased this blush, but I have used it a couple of times during the month of February, and I have really loved this blush. The colours that are printed on to the blush (not to mention the oh so lovely heart appliquĂ© on the blush) are so beautiful and add such a natural pop of colour to the apples of the cheeks. I will have to write a full review on this blush soon, so keep an eye out for this post! I think I was very inspired by 'Valentines Day' when I purchased this blush.

'Maybelline Colour Tattoo by Eye Studio' in Bold Gold:
This eye shadow/creme eyeshadow is so beautiful and easy to use for a lovely pop of colour on to the eyelids. The colour is very natural and is quite nice to wear everyday. I have been loving this eyeshadow so much, and I have really enjoyed using some of the other colours in the eyeshadow line. This creme eyeshadow, is very easy to blend on to the eyelid, it also looks great as a highlight in the inner corner of the eye.

'Stella' by Stella McCartney perfume:
I have loved this perfume from the day I first smelt it at the perfume counter, it's so beautiful. The perfume has a note of rose in it, which explains why it smells so floral-like and fresh. The packaging on this perfume is so chic and clean, which is beautiful. I really adore this perfume and has been a favourite of mine this year! Full review of this perfume soon!

So there we go, there is my February Favourites, I hope next months favourites are going to be a little bit longer and I will have more products to review for you all. I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you all soon, in my next blogpost.

Rose bouquets and recent purchases.

I think it's well and truly a lovely time to spoil yourself on Valentines Day (sorry about the late blogpost) and even if your just spoiling yourself or your loved ones. When you start see advertisements about this day, you begin to think, "What am I going to do?!"
I also notice stores bring out Valentines Day inspired sales and rose bouquets are flying off the shelves.
When Valentines Day is upon us, I enjoy making loveheart cupcakes or loveheart inspired cupcakes (post here), and spoiling yourself with magazines to read or chocolate roses- oh so delightful!

I thought I would share with you all, about these recent lovely purchases which are somewhat inspired by Valentines Day.

Did you get spoilt this Valentines Day?
I hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day and have a lovely week! :)

Outfit of the day: Natural and simple!

Hello everyone, today I opted for a clean basic outfit with a pop of colour with the spotted trousers.

I wore a white linen lace print shirt and layered it with a white basic blazer, which softened the overall look. The statement piece I opted for was the black and white spotted trousers, and wore a pair of gold and pink tone shoes. These shoes are most likely my favourite go-to pair of shoes which you can wear with basically every outfit. I opted for minimal jewellery, so I chose to wear a gold watch and my favourite ring!

2013 and new things on the blog!

Hi everyone! 2013 is here and I hope everyone had a lovely New Years and all the best wishes for the new year.

So far, in 2012, I accomplished and created this blog: 'Beauty Artiste', which has been so helpful in blogging about beauty, fashion all things decor related. I enjoy writing blogposts for all of my readers which has been so delightful. This year, I have decided I will blog more often about beauty and fashion as I have decided to do fashion posts. I have in particular, a favourite clothing of the month post similar to January favourites in beauty but fashion-wise this time. I thought it would be a great way of sharing my clothing style and blogging about favourite styles and clothing that has been popular that week/month.

Hopefully, in the new year, I will have accomplished a few things on my blog:
#1- Redecorate blog and make it more blogger style.
#2- Post more often and write more blogposts!
#3- I will post more beauty/fashion favourites posts.
And finally... #4- Maybe add a few cooking blogposts!

Finally, I would like to thank all of my readers for reading my blog and blogposts, and have a great new year!

Christmas and Festivity.

I haven't done a few blog posts in a while, so I decided quite a while ago, I would organise a special 'Christmas' post in advance.

I really enjoy the time around Christmas and the cheery happiness it brings. This year, I have decided to talk about gift guides and make more posts about Christmas and the New Year, which I hope will be quite helpful when you're trying to look for Christmas gift guides. Also this year, I will be writing new posts about updates with Christmas decorating ideas, including a few pictures and sneak peeks of our new Chistmas Tree this year.

There has been huge hype around white Christmas trees and elegant looking mantal pieces which include snow-like candles, spicy scents and that feeling of warmth when surrounded by a room filled with Christmas decorations! I've noticed in quite a few homeware and house books- (which are lovely enough to have as a coffee table book), they have opted for timeless pieces and bright colours. A few books have focused on more subtle features and tones when choosing Christmas decorations and trees. Red, green and gold are the favourites during Christmas tree/decoration picking, but lately quite a few people have been choosing white trees and beautiful Christmas ornaments which are white and have some sort of snow-like dustings dazzled elegantly over these decorations. Isn't it fun when choosing which tree to have and what decorations and homewares to buy, to decorate your house with? The joy of Christmas and the wait up until the special Christmas Day is quite exciting!

Here's a few ideas for you to think of when looking for Christmas homewares and trees!

Keep checking back to this blog soon for more Christmas ideas! I absolutely adore snowflake-like christmas trees and elegant decorations. Merry Christmas and enjoy festive decorating!

September!

Hello everyone, Happy September!

The start of September, is known for it's blooming flowers and all things floral.

Lately, I've been overly drawn to floral-orientated pieces and i've been infatuated with garden-like, floral-like beauty products which include alot of natural ingredients. Natural ingredients are always beneficial in our lives. Tropical fruit has been a major favourite lately and so has florals!

Pastel colours have been quite inspirational this Spring, especially romantic-like colours! Floral scented perfumes with a hint of orange blossom, honey and peonies have been my favourite type of perfume to use. Lately, i've been loving 'Pretty' by Elizabeth Arden and 'Stella' by Stella McCartney. Another perfume that has been spoken about alot on blogs and youtube videos is Elie Saab 'Le Parfum'. It brings out the femininity in a perfume. The scent has notes of wood and floral, which is quite 'delicate'.

What are your favourite products?

Studio Secrets Eyeshadow

I have a few blog posts and reviews for you all, that will hopefully be posted up sometime soon. I have quite a few reviews on recent products that I have been trying, which all surround beauty products and skincare products. I've recently bought a few products from the L'OrĂ©al Studio Secrets line which until now, I never knew much about.

My first impression of this line was that the packaging of the products are very smart and look nice. They've made the packaging look simple but appealing to the eye when you look at the products. The first product I bought from the beauty line, was the Studio Secrets Eyeshadow. The packaging says the eyeshadow is specifically made for people with brown eyes. I wouldn't say that this product is specifically made for people with brown eyes, because the colour/pigment of the eyeshadow suits all eye colours and all skin types.

The colour/pigment of the eyeshadow is a warm brown to a light gold with a slight shimmer added to it.  I apply this eyeshadow all over my eyelid and I use a little amount when applying it. I also use this eyeshadow as a inner-corner highlight on my eyes. It's a suitable colour to apply to the corner of the eyes as it creates a more awakening look to the eyes. The formula/texture of the eyeshadow is very quick and easy to apply to the eyelid. The texture of this eyeshadow is quite smooth and is very easy to apply, just lightly dust the shadow off using a basic eyeshadow brush (Base Shadow Brush by Real Techniques or EcoTools Eyeshadow Brush are great brushes to use when applying eyeshadow) and apply all over the eyelid.

Overall, I am quite impressed with this eyeshadow and I might have a look at the other eyeshadows in this beauty line. I highly recommend this product!

Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation!

Hello dears!

I am back and I do apologise for the recent wait for this blogpost to be up! I have been quite busy and it has taken me a bit of time to take photos of these products. But here it is! I have loads to tell you guys. So before I ramble on a bit more, I would like to tell you guys about these recent beauty products on the shelves and how much I am loving them.

I recently have noticed there was a huge hype about the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and it caught my eye. There has been recent blogposts and many youtube videos that have talked about this product and so on. This product has only just been released, so it's a bit of a new shine and glamour on the shelves, also a beauty sensation! All the reviews and hype about this product, made me purchase a bottle.

Step one.
Step two.

Step three.

The Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation has advertised it's product to have an Anti-Fatigue Effect and Radiant Glow, which is exactly what it does. I was extraordinarily impressed with this product as it did reduce the signs of fatigue in your skin as well as giving your face a radiant glow. I felt as though the foundation gave me an illuminating effect to my skin which I was very pleased with.

How it looks when it is applied: This foundation was extremely easy to apply to my face as it was very soft in texture when pumped from the bottle. The colour I chose was 'Ivory' and it toned very well with my skin. The colour of the foundation in the bottle looks a shade dark than an Ivory colour, but when applied, it looks very much like the colour Ivory. The foundation itself has a very illuminating effect to it and I noticed when I was applying the foundation to my face, it had a little a bit of a shimmer added to it. The foundation doesn't feel or appear to be dewy but gives a very glowing 'Wake Up' effect on your face.

Pricing: The foundation is priced at around $20.00 which isn't too expensive but budget appropriate.

Overall, I was very pleased with this foundation and I definitely will be re-purchasing another bottle of this foundation! I highly recommend this product to everyone who loves Rimmel foundations or anyone that would like to try something new. I love it! :)

Nail Care Conditioning Lotion!

Hello dears!

I am back to do more blog posts for you all and share my ideas and such.
I recently have been interested in nail polish/nail care and upgrading my nail polish collection. There are quite a lot of nail polish brands and colours on the shelves these days which intrigues me even more. I tend to have a look at other blog pages that are focused around nail polish often and I always end up purchasing a certain nail polish. Recently, I have started growing my nails quite long as I used to have quite short and annoying nails. I've always had a liking towards long nails and how they look when painted with polish. I have posted a blogpost on a favourite 'Rimmel' nail polish here.

This particular product that I am focusing on is the Vaseline: Healthy hand and nail conditioning hand lotion. Which has advertised to 'Softens hands and strengthens nails by 50%.' I feel as though they advertised the product well and the product strived to do what it says. It contains keratin and vitamin E, which soothes dry skin and succeeds to push along nail growth.

You may come across quite a lot of nail care/ hand cream products that are suppose to enable nail growth and relieve dry hands. Often these products may cause irritation to the skin/nail and have false advertising to their product. But I was quite pleased with this product as it soothed my hands and enabled nail growth. I felt as though my nail growth became quicker and the nails looked quite healthy/stronger. The scent of this product was not harsh at all but had a slight floral/fruity scent added to it. My hands did not have any irritation to the hand lotion whatsoever which was greatly pleasing.

This bottle was 75mL which goes a long way and you don't need as much product when needed. The packaging of this product was quite pretty and the bottle is pink which makes it feel a little more 'girly'.

This product was priced at around $5.00 which is budget appropriate and quite affordable when it comes to hand cream/nail cream. I highly recommend this product!

Have you tried this product? What is your favourite hand cream/ nail cream?
